Florida wind-mitigation credits are awarded after a licensed wind-mitigation inspection documents qualifying features. Common credits:
- Hip roof vs. gable/other shapes
- Secondary water resistance (SWR) underlayment
- Hurricane straps / roof-to-wall connections
- Impact-rated windows and exterior doors
- Protected garage door
- Roof deck attachment nail schedule
How to claim
- Hire a licensed wind mitigation inspector for a current inspection
- Submit the signed inspection form (OIR-B1-1802) to your carrier
- Discount applies at next renewal
