Ocean Point Claims Company, LLC (“Ocean Point,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) publishes educational content about Florida property insurance claims. This page explains how that content is written, who reviews it, how we cite sources, how we correct errors, and the limits of what this website is and is not.
Advertising disclosure
This website is advertising. Ocean Point Claims Company, LLC is a Florida-licensed public adjusting firm (FL DFS License #W829547) that solicits and performs public adjusting services for policyholders. Under Florida Department of Financial Services rules governing public-adjuster advertising (Fla. Admin. Code Rule 69B-220.051), content on this site that promotes our services is a solicitation for business. Educational articles are provided to help policyholders understand the claim process; they are not a neutral third-party publication.
Our primary licensed public adjuster is Eli Goins (FL DFS License #P159790). You can verify any Florida license at the Florida DFS licensee search.
Editorial and review process
Claim, coverage, and statute content on this site is reviewed by licensed Florida public adjusters before publication. Reviewers check that:
- Statements about coverage, deadlines, and procedure reflect current Florida law and standard policy language, not marketing shorthand.
- Any figure, percentage, or case outcome is either drawn from Ocean Point’s own claim records or attributed to a named, verifiable source.
- Nothing promises, guarantees, or implies a specific claim outcome.
Content is re-reviewed when Florida statutes or administrative rules that it relies on are amended.
Authorship and credentials
Substantive claim and insurance content is authored or reviewed by people who work Florida property claims day to day. Where an article carries a named author, that person’s role and, for licensed adjusters, their license number are identifiable through the site. Ocean Point does not publish claim or coverage guidance under fabricated or undisclosed authorship, and it does not represent non-adjusters as licensed adjusters.
Citation policy
When we state a legal rule, deadline, or standard, we cite the controlling authority so you can read it yourself:
- Florida statutesare cited by section number and link to the Florida Legislature’s official text at flsenate.gov.
- Administrative rules and licensing are cited to the Florida Department of Financial Services at myfloridacfo.com.
- Outcome statisticsare attributed to their source (for example, the 2010 Florida OPPAGA study of public-adjuster outcomes) and carry an “individual results vary” qualifier. Figures drawn from our own files are labeled as such.
Corrections policy
If you find an error of fact, an outdated statute reference, or a statement you believe overstates what a public adjuster can do, contact us at office@oceanpoint.claims or (888) 824-1306. We review reported errors, correct substantive mistakes promptly, and update the content’s effective or review date when a material change is made.
