Ocean Point Claims:before inspection scheduled
Claim Process

Before Inspection Is Scheduled

Between FNOL and the inspection, your claim moves through intake, severity classification, reserve setting, and adjuster assignment. What you do during this window affects everything downstream.

What happens on the carrier side

  1. FNOL intake by call center or online portal
  2. Claim number generated
  3. Severity classification (small/medium/large)
  4. Initial reserve set
  5. Adjuster assigned (internal or independent)
  6. Inspection scheduling attempted

Timeline

  • Day 0: FNOL
  • Day 1-3: Acknowledgment; adjuster assigned
  • Day 3-14: Inspection scheduling (often slower after catastrophes)
  • Fla. Stat. 627.70131: 7-day acknowledgment; 30-day inspection initiation

  • Retain public adjuster if claim is significant
  • Keep receipts for ALE if displaced
